Vintage Blue Guilloche Enamel "SMH" Sterling Balfour Brooch

This little brooch made me laugh, who doesn't need an SMH brooch?! Realistically, though, I believe that this brooch is likely a military piece or something similar, as it was made by Balfour, a company which made military pins and fraternity rings. I would estimate that this brooch dates to the 1950s-60s, based on the Balfour hallmark. The guilloche enamel is the most beautiful color!

The enamel is in excellent condition. It is marked "LGB Sterling" on the back. The brooch measures 0.9 cm x 4 cm (or 0.35 inches by 1.58 inches) and weighs a total of 5.45 grams.
