This is an amazing mid-century modernist artisan made brooch! The artisan who made this piece clearly had great design sense and it has a beautiful chalcedony cabochon in bright blue in the center. This is definitely an interesting conversation piece that will get noticed!
The brooch is unmarked, but tests for sterling silver. The center gemstone tests in the chalcedony range. It's in excellent vintage condition; the silver has oxidized but that could be polished away, if desired. I've just chosen to leave it in it's original state. It measures 2.2 cm x 3.8 cm (or about 0.87 inches by 1.5 inches), and weighs a total of 8.17 grams.
